What This Error Means
You are uploading a LEDES file, but Brightflag cannot detect valid invoice content in the file.
If you see error BF105, it means:
The file is empty, or
The file does not contain readable LEDES invoice data
This commonly happens when:
The file was saved incorrectly
The file is not a valid LEDES invoice format
If Brightflag cannot detect structured LEDES data, the upload will fail.
How to Resolve It
Open the file you are trying to upload.
-
Confirm that:
The file is not blank
It contains invoice line data
It was exported in a valid LEDES invoice format
👉 See: What LEDES Invoice Formats Does Brightflag Accept?
(This article includes sample LEDES files for reference.)
If your file does not match an accepted format, regenerate the LEDES file from your billing system.
If you are unsure how to generate a valid LEDES file, contact your billing system provider or the person responsible for your firm’s LEDES exports to confirm the correct export settings.
Once you have a properly generated LEDES invoice file, re-upload it.
