How to Create or Request a Matter

Your ability to create or request a Matter depends on what your client has enabled in Brightflag.


🅰️ If You See Add Matter

You can create a Matter directly.

Steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Matters > View Matters
  2. Click Add Matter
  3. Complete all required fields (highlighted in pink)
  4. Click Add Matter to save

📌 If you’re unsure what a field means, contact your client before submitting.


🅱️ If You See Request Matter

You must submit a request for client approval.

Steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Matters > View Matters
  2. Click Request Matter
  3. Complete all required fields (highlighted in pink)
  4. Click Request Matter to submit

What happens next:

  • Your client reviews the request
  • You receive an email confirming approval or rejection
  • Approved Matters appear automatically in your Matter list

🚫 If You See Neither Option

This means your client does not allow vendors to create or request Matters.

✔ Contact your client directly and ask them to create the Matter and share it with your firm.
