If you see an error message when uploading or updating timekeeper rates (general or matter-based) follow the steps below to find and fix the problem.
Step 1: Don't Ignore the Warning
If your file has errors, a warning message appears after you upload it. Rows with errors have not been submitted, so you need to fix them.
Step 2: Download the Error File
Click Download Errors. An Excel file will download to your computer.
Step 3: Find the Errors
Open the downloaded file:
Cells with errors are highlighted.
The Errors column (column N) explains what's wrong with each highlighted row.
Common examples:
A required field is empty and needs to be filled in.
A Timekeeper ID conflict. See: Why Does My Timekeeper Upload Say the ID Is Already In Use? for how to fix this.
Step 4: Fix and Re-upload
Correct the highlighted cells directly in the error file.
Return to Menu > Timekeepers and click Bulk Submit.
Click Browse, select the corrected file, and click Submit.
You don't need to delete the Errors column before re-uploading. Brightflag ignores it.
Only rows with errors need fixing.
