What This Means
This article explains how Brightflag handles errors when you upload timekeeper rates. It helps you understand whether your submission was partially processed or fully blocked.
What Happens When You Submit
When you upload a timekeeper rates file:
- Valid rows are submitted immediately.
- Rows with cell-level errors are skipped and returned in an error file.
- File-level errors prevent the entire file from being submitted.
Cell-Level Errors (Partial Submission)
Cell-level errors affect individual rows only.
What to expect:
- Valid rows are still submitted.
- Rows with issues are excluded.
- You can download an error spreadsheet from the upload modal.
In the error spreadsheet:
- Problem cells are highlighted in red.
- The final column explains the reason for the error.
How to Fix
- Correct the highlighted values directly in the error file.
- Re-upload the same file.
📌 You do not need to remove the error-reason column — it is ignored on re-upload.
File-Level Errors (Submission Blocked)
File-level errors prevent any rows from being submitted.
Common causes:
- Missing required columns
- Incorrect file format
- Corrupted or unsupported file
How to Fix
- Correct the file structure.
- Re-upload the full template.
