What This Error Means
You are submitting a LEDES invoice, and a phase budget is required for this matter.
If you see error BF121, it means:
A phase budget must be selected, and
No phase budget was chosen during submission
Some clients require invoices to be linked to a specific phase budget. If one is not selected, the invoice cannot be submitted.
How to Resolve It
Open your LEDES invoice submission.
Locate the Phase Budget dropdown.
Select the correct phase budget for the matter.
Complete the remaining fields and resubmit the invoice.
If you are unsure which phase budget to select, contact your client for confirmation.
Once the correct phase budget is selected, the invoice should submit successfully.
