What This Error Means
You are submitting a LEDES invoice, but no matter was selected.
Every invoice must be linked to an active matter in Brightflag.
If you see error BF115, it means:
No matter was selected in the submission screen, or
The LEDES file did not contain a valid matter reference
The system cannot process an invoice unless it is connected to a matter.
How to Resolve It
Step 1: Check the Matter in the Submission Screen
When uploading your LEDES file:
Locate the Matter field.
Select the correct matter from the dropdown.
Confirm the matter appears before submitting.
Step 2: Check the Matter in Your LEDES File
If the matter does not auto-populate:
Open your LEDES file.
Confirm that the correct Matter Reference / Matter ID is included.
Make sure it matches exactly what appears in Brightflag.
After selecting or correcting the matter, resubmit the invoice.
