Before you can access your client on Brightflag, you need to be added as a vendor user on their Brightflag instance. This article will help you understand the process, troubleshoot potential issues, and guide you on how to get added successfully.

Problem Overview:

If you do not see the client that you need or you cannot access your client’s Brightflag instance, it is likely because you have not yet been added as a vendor user. Vendor user access is controlled entirely by the client, and Brightflag support cannot add you to their instance directly.

Troubleshooting and Solutions:

Here are the steps you can take to ensure you are added as a vendor user:

1. Getting Added by the Client:

  • What to Do: Contact your client directly via email and request to be added as a vendor user. Your client's internal Brightflag admin will be responsible for adding you to their Brightflag instance.
  • Important Notes:
    • If your firm has not been added yet, the client will need to set up your firm within their Brightflag instance before you can be added as a vendor user.
    • If you are unsure who to contact at the client’s organization, you can reach out to Brightflag Support, and they will assist you by providing the relevant client contact information.
  • Additional Scenario:
    • If your client is transitioning to Brightflag and you have received a notification about the “Go-Live” date, ensure that you provide the client with a list of all users (First Name, Last Name, Email Address) who need to be onboarded. These users will be added on the Go-Live date.

Please note: Brightflag support does not have the authority to add you as a vendor user. Only your client can control vendor access to their Brightflag instance.

2. Getting Added by a Colleague:

  • What to Do: If your firm has already been added to the client’s Brightflag instance and one of your colleagues has been assigned the role of Vendor Admin, they can add you as a vendor user.
  • Instructions: Ask your colleague to follow this guide: [Adding Colleagues to Brightflag (for Vendors and Law Firms)].
  • Important Notes:
    • This option is only available if your client permits it. If your colleague cannot add you or if this feature is unavailable, you will need to reach out to your client directly for assistance.

Summary of Actionable Steps:

  • Step 1: Contact your client to be added as a vendor user (if your firm hasn’t been added yet, they will need to set it up first).
  • Step 2: If your colleague is a Vendor Admin and your firm is already set up, ask them to add you.
  • Step 3: If uncertain about whom to contact or the next steps, reach out to Brightflag support for guidance.

By following the steps outlined above, you will ensure that you are added correctly as a vendor user and can access your client’s Brightflag instance without any issues.
