PDF Upload Error: File Not Accepted When Uploading

  • Updated

If you try to upload a PDF invoice and nothing happens after selecting the file, this usually means the file doesn’t meet Brightflag’s upload requirements. In most cases, this is due to the file size.

Use the checks below to resolve the issue.

🔍 Step 1️⃣ Check the File Size (Most Common Cause)

What’s happening
Brightflag will not accept PDF files larger than 7MB. When this limit is exceeded, the file may fail to upload without showing an error message.

How to fix it

  • Confirm the file size is 7MB or smaller

  • If the file is too large:

    • Compress the PDF

    • Or split the invoice into smaller files, if appropriate

  • Try uploading the file again after reducing the size

🔍 Step 2️⃣ Check the File Name

What’s happening
The file name contains characters that aren’t supported.

How to fix it

  • Rename the file using only the allowed characters

  • Save the file and retry the upload
