Is There an Accrual Submission Deadline?

  • Updated

Yes.

If your client requires accruals, there is a monthly accrual submission deadline.

What Does the Accrual Deadline Mean?

The accrual deadline is the last date and time you can:

  • Submit accruals

  • Edit previously submitted accruals

for that accrual period.

Once the deadline passes:

  • The accrual period closes

  • A new accrual period opens

  • You cannot submit or make changes for the closed period

  • Brightflag Support cannot reopen it

If the deadline is missed, you must contact your client directly.

Important: Deadlines Vary by Client

Each client configures their own accrual deadline.

Brightflag does not apply a standard deadline across all customers.

If your firm works with multiple clients in Brightflag:

  • Each client may have a different deadline

  • Deadlines may fall on different dates each month

  • Deadlines may not align with month-end

You must check each client account separately.

Do not assume:

  • All clients share the same cutoff date

  • The deadline is the last day of the month

Deadlines May Fall on Weekends or Holidays

Clients can configure deadlines on:

  • Weekends

  • Public holidays

Brightflag does not adjust or move these dates.

Always check the exact date and time shown in the system.

How to Check the Accrual Deadline

  1. Log in to Brightflag

  2. Switch to the relevant client account

  3. Go to Menu > Accruals

  4. The submission deadline is displayed at the top of the page

If you manage multiple clients:

  • Repeat these steps for each client account

Always confirm the time zone displayed.

Reminder Emails

If accruals are enabled, Brightflag automatically sends reminder emails:

  • 5 days before the deadline

  • On the deadline day

Reminder emails are sent separately for each client.

Always review the email carefully to confirm:

  • Which client it relates to

  • The exact deadline date and time

Best Practice

Because deadlines vary and may fall earlier than expected:

  • Check deadlines at the beginning of each accrual cycle

  • Submit accruals early in the month whenever possible

  • Do not wait until month-end

Submitting early reduces the risk of missing a client-specific cutoff date.

If you are unsure about a specific accrual deadline, confirm directly with your client.
